The Chicago Teachers Union voted to refuse in-person instruction after the nation's third-largest school district called teachers and staff into classrooms and started to lock them out from remote work. Today we take a look at their collective action and map it onto our, soon-to-be, situation. As educators that want to return back to school, what would we do should we be placed in a compromised vote against our desire to return? And what do we make of this notion of safety?
